Who is Amitabh Bachchan?
Amitabh Bachchan is an Indian actor, filmmaker, television host, and occasional playback singer. He was born on 11 October 1942 in Allabhad, he is currently 79 years old. His father’s name was Harivansh Rai Bachchan, he was a poet and his mother’s name was Teji Bachchan who was a social activist. He received his education from Sherwood College, Nanital and Kirori mal college, University of Delhi. He started his film career in 1969 when he worked as a voice narrator in Mrinal Sen’s film Bhuvan Shome. He was married to Jaya Bachchan on 4 June 1973.

Amitabh Bachchan started his career in 1969 as a voice narrator in the film Bhuvan shome, his debut acting role was as one of the seven protagonists in the movie Saat Hindustani. He started gaining popularity in the early 1970s because of his outstanding acting in films like Zanjeer, Deewaar, and Sholay. He was also crowned with the name of ‘Angry young man’ for his outstanding role in Hindi movies. In 1988 he was featured in the movie Shahen Shah was released, which gave Amitabh Bachchan the name of Shaheen Shah.
In the mid-1970s, he started acting in a variety of film genres like comedy (chupke chupke), romantic (mili), and drama (Faraar). His film deewar became a major hit at the box office in 1975. He is the all-time favorite host of Kaun Banega crore Pati, a reality show that started in 2000, and since then he has hosted all seasons except season 3 (hosted by Shah Rukh Khan).

In 2002 he was awarded the Dayawati Modi award, this award is considered among the highest awards in the field of art and culture. He was also awarded the Dadasahed Phalke award in 2018.
He was awarded Padma Shri in 1984, Padma Bhushan in 2001, and Padma Bhushan in 2015 by the government of India.
Due to his contribution to the world of cinema, Amitabh Bachchan won the actor of the century title at the Alexandria international film festival which was held in Egypt in 2001. He was conferred with the Honorary Citizenship of the French town of Deauville in 2003 and he was also awarded a medal of honor of Morocco, which was given to by king Mohammed at the Marrakech International Film festival.
In 2002 he became the first living Asian to have a wax model at London’s Madame Tussauds wax museum.
